Where is The Islands at Mauna Lani located?
We are located within the Mauna Lani Resort community on the Kohala Coast of the Island of Hawai'i (Big Island), just 30 minutes north of Kona International Airport.

What types of accommodations are available?
We offer spacious two- and three-bedroom villa-style residences with full kitchens, private lanais, en-suite bathrooms, and resort-style amenities.

Is the resort family-friendly?
Yes! With spacious residences, a private resort pool, and easy access to calm beaches, the property is ideal for families, including multi-generational groups.

Are pets allowed?
It is important to understand that the state of Hawaii has strict protocols when it comes to bringing animals to Hawaii. There are quarantine requirements, health certificates, and other forms that must be completed prior to travel. The Islands at Mauna Lani does not allow pets for guest stays. Certified service animals are allowed and must be registered on property.

- Check-in: 4:00 PM HST
- Check-out: 11:00 AM HST
Early check-in or late check-out requests are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.

How do I check in?
We provide pre-arrival instructions via text or email, including gate access and residence entry details — allowing you to go directly to your residence for a seamless arrival.
Cancellation Terms

What is your standard cancellation policy?
Our full cancellation policy and deposit collection policies are outlined on our Islands at Mauna Lani Guest Services page.

Are there special policies for holiday stays?
Yes. For stays between December 19 and January 4, a 50% non-refundable deposit is due at booking, and the balance is charged 90 days prior to arrival. Cancellations during this period are non-refundable.

Is a deposit required at booking?
Yes. A one-night refundable deposit (including tax) is required at time of booking.

What amenities are included in my residence?
All residences include a full kitchen, en-suite bathrooms, private lanais, central air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, washer and dryer, and hotel-quality linens and toiletries.

Is parking available?
Yes, complimentary private parking is available for all guests within our gated community.

Is there a pool or hot tub on the property?
Yes, guests enjoy access to a private gated pool area with a hot tub and poolside entertainment pavilion.

Do I have access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club?
Yes! All guests receive special parking access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club at Makaiwa Bay — perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and oceanfront dining.
Housekeeping & Maintenance

What is included in the housekeeping service?
Before your arrival, our team ensures your residence is thoroughly cleaned using industry-leading techniques and products. For stays of five to nine nights, we provide a complimentary mid-stay cleaning on the third or fourth day. For stays of ten nights or longer, guests receive two complimentary mid-stay cleanings every three to four days, which include:
- Change of bed linens
- Replacement of soiled bathroom towels
- Restocking and cleaning of bathrooms
- Cleaning kitchen and dishwasher load
- Trash removal
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Dusting furniture and cleaning tabletops
- Vacuuming entire residence
- Cleaning lanai tabletops and floors
